I Guess Winter Has Arrived!

Thats what I saw when I looked out the window this morning........

.....snow

and by now..... not just the heater in my sewing room doesnt work......... the heater in my appartement quit the job also :( .........oh happy freezing!    

FSNI October 2012 - Results

Here are my results of FNSI - at first I had to get my electrical heater cuz my regular heater didnt work in my sewing room and it was freezing cold there. After a few minutes it was nice and warm and I was able to start FNSI

 

 

Here is the fabric choice for the backing of top Isabella

cutting, sewing and some irioning......

 

voilà and the backing is done......

and now the batting......

 

......yep I piece some battings from leftovers

and done.......

Top Isabella

Top Isabella is done....... but I´m not sure....... it turned out very flowerish......... I like it on one side but on the other its to...... to flowerish........ to much??? The brown binding I´ve planned would calm this down....... but hmmmmmmm

Ok.... at least here is something I like, the binding for this quilt all done and rolled up on my favorite old wooden spool.

Colors Of Fall

Spring and fall are my favorite season...... I love when everthing starts getting green and blooming again after a long grey and cold winter. But I also love fall when everything gets so colorful........I feel like...... just have a look

Now its time to sew-in the threads and cut off the fleece, I used for the backside while appliqueing the letters.

Ladybug In Progress

The ladybugs are done and the letters for the girls name are waiting to be appliqued on. Hmmm somehow the top looked much better on my drawing with all the brown between the blocks, it also looked better laying the floor than it does here on the pic.

 

Oh well I´ll stick with my drawing and hope it will get a different look after adding sashing and border. Normally the quilting changes the look of a quilt also (hopefully I will like it then)

It Caught My Eye......





...when I passed the huge pile of bulk rubbish while walking to my car. To bad that I havent took a picutre before I painted it .......its made of oak wood and pretty heavy. I just didnt like the light brown so I painted it

 

 

and turned it into a storage for some FQs, jelly rolls and/or charm packs

Fabrics For My Next Project

Busy, busy, busy with sewing baby quilts. These are fabrics for a lil girl which turns one in February. Thats the deadline for this quilt - but it looks like the quilt will be a Christmas-present.

I love playing with my stash but somehow I never have the fabric I need.

The ladybug-, flowerish- and greenish fabric were ordered for this project. Well, also the brown - since I run out of dark brown fabric.

Lena´s Quilt Is Finished

Wohooo the last stitches got made this afternoon.........

Hopefully the parents will like the quilt - it will be handed over next weekend.
