My Little Bit Of Sewing During Easter

Like I wrote in the post before - I managed to do a itsy bit of sewing during the holidays.

I have sewn and ironed the binding for project "Texas" (9.3 yrd)

and I have finished the scrappy part for the quilted basket swap. I think I will use green for the main body.... hopefully my swap partner will like it too.

Hopefully I will find some time this week to do some sewing - because of this extraordinarily beautiful weather - I spent most of the evenings working outside or watering our garden. Have I mentioned, that we need some rain really bad..... I can water the garden but the farmers are already having trouble with their sowing.

Easter Holidays Went By Too Fast

I hope you all had a Happy Easter - I defently had and no time to watch DVD or to post anything. The good and fun times always passing by so fast! The weather was awesome (but we need rain really bad), spent a decent time with my horse, playing with the cats, start taking some pictures again and well yeah I managed it to do a itsy bit of sewing too.

and by the evening, all three blooms were open

Results Of FNSI - April

Well I planned way more to do - but I got way to tired to stay awake past midnight. So I just kept on quilting project "Texas" - still not done yet - but I hope I will finish it today

its not alot and just simple quilting - but it takes up some time too.

Lets Get Started For FNSI

Ok..... I changed the tires of two cars, took care of the horses and took a shower....... I would say I´m ready for FNSI April.  So - what´s on my scedule for FNSI

mainly I wanna keep on quilting project "Texas"

or start the seceond quilted scrap basket

my huge mug of coffee defently needed after this day - lol!

looks like I need to fight for my seat :-D

Cats Day Out

Bizkit is allowed to be outside by himself - but not the little ones - they are only allowed to be outside when one of us is working outside or in this case taking pictures.

A Pile Of Fleece And Layers Are Sandwiched

This week I´ve got the fleece for quilt "Texas" delivered. I acutally wanted to buy the fleece in a local store, so I could see what quality I will get. But no chance, the one store didn´t had fleece at all and the other only 3 different ones. So I had to order online.......and I was really exited what great quality I´ve received

Quilted Scrap Basket

So - cats are locked out of the living room (Rocco is pratically living in this basket) and here is the pic from the quilted scrap basket

Quilted Basket Is Done

Yesterday I have finished the quilted basket and I like it alot......well not just me

Its not easy to get a pic without the fur-noses, they are following me around all day long - lol. I´ll try to make a pic of the basket (just the basket) - this evening when I get off work!

Scrappy Quilted Basket

I worked a bit more on the scrapy quilted basket - I defently like how it turns out and if my swap partner wont have any preferences - I think she will receive a scrappy one too.

Its a good practise for my free motion quilting - I´m getting alright with smaller pieces but I´m still afraid when I have to put my kitty-cat quilt back under the sewing machine

So, this evening I have planned to spent a decent time in my "Nähstubb" (sewing room) and maybe even finish this quilted basket.

Testing And Scraps

I was bored yesterday....... cant work on my current projects because of not knowing babys name or waiting for ordered fabric to be delivered. I wanted to sew something little and I thought I would give the quilted fabric basket out of the swap a test sewing.

I used some of my scraps

picked the other fabric out of my stash....and I must say I love it so far....

I guess I will work some more on this basket on Sunday

Rattle ball

I´ve got the pattern from my friend Marianne. This rattle ball is going to be a extra goodie for the baby quilt I´m still waiting for the babies name. So far I´ve sewn alles the pieces together and now I have to stuff and close them. It will keep me busy when I´m not in the mood for spending time in my sewing room.

TOP "TEXAS" IS DONE

Done! At least the top. I just have ordered the fleece backing for this quilt and hopefully it will be delivered Monday or Tuesday so I could start to sandwich the layers. I love this quilt and the way it turned out
