Sewing Break And Ironing- & Cutting Marathon

At the moment I´m taking a break from sewing...... well sewing room needs to be cleaned up (especially fabrics need to be ironed) because I will get a new satellite dish the next few weeks and new cables need to be laid accross the whole house and all beginns in my sewing room. Have I mentioned that I still had to iron the few fabrics I bought while I was on vacation in TX?!?

Well that´s what I did the last few evenings - ironing........ all togehter 97 3/4 yards (I love sales in the US - but not so the ironing part). Did I really carry home all these fabrics?!?!

I also went through one of my scrap drawers and start cutting bigger scraps into 2.5" squares (this pile shows 167 pieces). I´m collecting for a scrappy quilt I would love to make the next years. I already have a jar full of squares but I have no clue how many pieces.

FNSI October - Results

I went to my sewing room around 9.15 pm  - yay me pretty early for a friday!

Always needed on a FNSI - huge cup of coffee :D

and thats the project I´ll plan to work on tonight - ghost and bats are already appliqued - so lets put it together to a sandwich

I pieced my batting (well yeah - I save my batting scraps and piece them)

cut and sewed the backing together

and put the sandwich together - I have to think about how I wanna quilt this. I´m still beginner when it comes to free motion quilting - so what to do with it?!?!

I put the wallhanging aside and grabbed my winter fabric and tree pattern (I wanted to make those trees for years...... sigh like so many things)

I cut fabric to make 4 of these trees.............

...... but this will be continued some other evening in the near furture ;-)

Yep its about time again to spent the whole evening in the sewing room!

Wadding

I made two more pumpkins and by now all my batting scraps are used up. It was pretty amazing how much of those batting scraps are going to fit in one pumpkin. I still wanna make some fabric Xmas trees where you need some more scraps or wadding........ well I guess I have to order some. While stuffing the pumpkins I relized that there is a big difference from all the scraps I had left. So I ordered siliconized wadding - its softer and keeps what ever you will stuff in a better shape.

I´ve ordered 4.4 pounds (2 kg) of that wadding and it arrived in this box

I opened the bag with the wadding to see if I got the right one and puuuffffff - the little bag out of the box turned into enormous huge bag of wadding

so I guess they have sucked the air out and I have to find a new storage place for my wadding - lol!

Pumpkin "Harvest" and Halloween

After I have finished the last toddler quilt - I pretty much got lazy when it comes to sewing. Well a few little things I have finished or still working on

every year I wanted to make some pumpkins and every year fall has passed and I still havent made myself some pumpkins..... well after fall is before fall right??

And yay me - this year I finally made some...
