The Officially Inauguration Of My Deckchairs

I got those deckchairs for my birthday (not too easy to get them in Germany) and after painting them (since I couldnt be picky about the color) I had them out for quite a while until we found a day for the offical inauguration (well I hope I picked the right word ??) of the deckchairs.

Marianne came over brought great Cocktails and some handsewing for the afternoon
(btw. here is the finished wooden barrel)

my Mom kept us company

and the cats hung around also

It was a great and fun August-afternoon with some handsewing and nice chatting.

Quilting Bee July 2012

We have managed the next quilting bee - well an extraordinarily bee......because my friend Nicole was part of it - yay!!!! She lives in TX and is on vacation in Germany to visit family and friends. We had lots of fun, chatting and some sewing

This is the project Nicole wants to work on - her plan for this evening to pin and quilt it

the start to pin the layers ...... at her laptop :D

look - she moved a bit closer......

and yayyyy Nicole made it....... the first pin is in............it took quite a while - lol!

still talking about pinning and quilting the layers...... Nicole was back with her laptop and facebook - lol

somehow she managed it to get it all pinned - there must be some gnomes helping her so she could start her quilting (LOL - luv a girl)

Ohh nooo - the tension wasnt right and the quilting turned out loopy on the backside.

I must admit Nicoel did all the quilting at this evening - so she really worked like a busy bee!

And of course Marianne was part of the bee also - she did some handsewing

and finished this its called "Schnuffeltuch"

she also kept on working on her other hand sewing project.

I´ve finsihed the top of the wedding/memory-quilt - sorry that I wont upload a pic at the moment - because the new going-to-be-quiltowner might stopp by at my blog also.

I really enjoyed the quilting bee with Nicole und Marianne.

Angela is working on a new baby quilt and Kathi is going to make her first quilt

Marianne was working on a stuffed fabric block and I was still working on the dino quilt which already got handed over to his new owner

here is Kathis layout for her top.

Kathi even started to sew the blocks together - she did such a great job on her first quilt!

Sewing & Chatting

I feel bad because I havent posted for a month - I´m still here, I´m still sewing or doing things and taking pictures but I got pretty lazy when it comes to posting. I guess I have to do some catch-up on what I did the last few weeks.

Well Marianne and me had a little get together with some sewing, chatting and some champagne

Marianne showed me her projects she is working on
All-colors-quilt - squares are cut and now she is trying to find a layout she likes

the amazing 3D-ball black & white - layers are sandwiched

here is another cute sandwich made out of a panel and borders were added

and of course the girls version too

Well I was sewing in some threads of my Dino-quilt.......hmmm it looks like I havent taken any pics of it.

Quilting-Bee February

Last Friday we had our little quilting bee again at Mariannes. This time we had a newbe with us sewing - Kathi she is a colleague from Marianne and Angela. Kathi was all into sewing a cell-charging-pocket with the help of Marianne and after she was done she made herself a little mugrug.

we chatted

we sewed
Angela is working on a baby quilt

Kathi is working on her cell-charging-pocket

we snacked
Marianne made some baguettes and a wonderful Tiramisu (was soooo yummieh)

here is Angelas baby quilt she is working on

this will be a clock made of fabric - Marianne finished it last weekend  - hopp over to her blog and check out the wonderful clock

this is another project Marianne is working on - I cant remember what its called but those pieces are all stitched together by hand and I tell ya it looks incredible in real

here is Kathi with her finished cell-charging-pocket - can you see how proud she is?!?!

oh yeah - and I did actually some sewing too - I cut and appliqued 9 stars on the blocks - they belong to my patriotic quilt

I think Kathi got infected with sewing - here she goes with a mugrug

with Mariannes help she finished it and can you see the big proud smile.......

............ Kathi even started talking about making a quilt....... yep...... she cought the quilting-virus - lol.

It was a wonderful evening and a big THANK YOU to Marianne for having this little quilting-bee at her place.

Wallhanging & Deco-Swap

Last Friday Marianne and I had a little quilting bee again. I think its much more fun when friends sit together for some sewing and chatting - sadly Angela couldnt make it this time.

Well, I would say we had a great evening - Marianne was working on her winter quilt......

......the quilt is amazing - Marianne handquilted it and here she is working on her binding
(sorry for the lousy quality of the pic - it took it with my cell phone)

and I have finished my Halloween-wallhanging...... finally!

I´m already looking forward to our next little get together - *hint-hint* :D

And I have received my goodies out of the Deco-Swap Sandra has organized in FB.

It turned out that Sandra was my secret swap partner. Look how supercute the little trees are, the gorgous MugRug with my initial on and buttons slide on a wire ring....

Thank you so much Sandra and thank you for having the idea for the swap and organizing it!
