Some More Sewing In Texas

Nicole joins a quilt group from her church and they meet up - I think it was twice a month. They are sewing quilts for charity and Nicole asked if she could bring me too and well I was allowed to join this group of wonderful ladies. At this meeting they were making diagonal stripped blocks - fabrics and laces were picked out of Mrs. Lucy´s goodie boxes. We were allowed to add laces or to embroid the blocks.

Some Sewing In Texas

Nicole is such a great friend, she took quite some of her spare time to resize the pics of my camera and mail them to me! Girl you rock!!!

Before I went on vacation I have asked Nicole if she likes those lampions and if she is interessted in to sew one. I have received the pattern from Baloo a member of the Quiltfriends - big THANK YOU.

I want mine to match the colors of my livingroom, so I went with blue and green fabrics

we started with the zigzag border - it took quite some time to make those

 Antonio, he kept us company this one evening - and no he´s not buzzed ;-)

Nicoles is one the left and mine is on the right - nope we dont really have an idea why we have different sizes. The pattern was in cm and we only had inch-rulers and mat - propably the mix-up happened at the conversion

My Backyard

Here are just some pics of my backyard

veggie garden: potatoes, onions, radish, kohlrabi, green beans, salad, tomatoes, gooseberries, redcurrant, chives, strawberries, red beet, cucumber and bell peppers

apple tree and cherry tree (looks like a bonsai compare to 3 yrs. ago - the tree was higher than my house - 2.5 stories)

Open House/Garden

Last weekend I went to an open house/garden. Its is pretty interessting that it is possible to have an exotic garden in our climate too. Of course you have to invest some time and work to get your own oasis.

During wintertime the planted-in palm- and banana-trees will be covered up and those exotic plants in a pot will be carried into a greenhouse. So for sure next year I will get me 5 ft. palmtree and hopefully I will have a green thumb with it.

My Goodies

It was a long trip home....... flight delay 3 h, train delay 15 min. because of that I missed my connection train so I had to wait another hour for the next one.......... by the time I got home I was more than upset. I had to cheer myself up and started unpacking to see all my goodies in one pile. I had a big grin on my face.....

batting, fabric, ribbons, ruler, vinyl, stamps, charms....... and almost everything was off the regular price. 30, 40, 50 % off....... no way I could´ve resist

This was also a must have,  I love the motive - well lunch box and cup were regular price but the lil picture I got from the dollar store.

.....and those goodies are fitting to some of my fabrics I have purchased a couple years ago.

Back At Home

OK - so I´m finally at home....... and I would love to share some of my vacation pics......... but a very intelligent person..... this would be me...... left her camera (thanks it was just the small one) in Texas. For now I cant share my vacation pics but I´ve already took some pics of my unpacked goodies and I will post about it within the next couple of days.

Vacation Break

............almost over! Only one more night here in Texas :-( .........
